The Story of Two will no longer release on Xbox as previously planned. After a thorough analysis of the state of affairs with regard to the platform requirement changes, and following testing issues with the backup provisions that have been evaluated over the past few days which are believed to be in regard to differences in the implementation of required functionalities, the difficult decision has been made to cease development of the Xbox port of the game and remit publishing control back to the game's developer.
This is not a decision that is made lightly. However, the reality is that as a partner developer for the platform in question, Zero Break Games is required to comply with all aspects of publishing which in this case means the abandonment of the development of the game for distribution on Xbox. Although the development paradigm that has been used for the game's development does have other potential alternatives, these provisions are not cost-effective within the game's budget and are also not guaranteed to function.
As a matter of policy, Zero Break Games can neither provide comment on specific technical factors or other aspects related to internal business decisions, nor remit the discussion of any rumors or speculative matters which may arise from such decisions and therefore will not discuss this further even if requested. Nonetheless, we wish the best for the development team of The Story of Two and although it was ultimately not meant to be, the experience gained from the process has been invaluable in terms of future endeavors that may be evaluated upon availability.
